What we cut, clear and carry away.

01 — Felling

Large Tree Felling

If there is space to drop the tree in one piece, that is the quick way and we will price it that way. Most Garden Route properties do not have that space, so the tree comes down in sections: the climber works from the top, cuts are lowered on ropes, and the trunk is blocked down last.

  • Gums, pines, poplars and mature garden trees
  • Sectional dismantling next to houses, walls and pools
  • Trees close to powerlines and outbuildings
  • Trunk cut to firewood lengths or removed whole

02 — Pruning

Pruning & Trimming

Good pruning is invisible a year later. We reduce and thin back to sound growth points, so the tree keeps its shape and its structure instead of throwing out a mess of weak water shoots.

  • Crown thinning, reduction and shaping
  • Deadwooding and removal of crossing limbs
  • Clearance from roofs, gutters, driveways and boundaries
  • View pruning that does not leave the bank exposed to wind

03 — Stumps

Stump Removal

A stump left in the ground keeps sending up shoots, attracts termites and gets in the way of whatever you want to do with that corner of the garden. We take stumps out below ground level so the spot can be levelled, lawned, paved or replanted.

  • Taken out cleanly, not just cut flush
  • Surface roots dealt with where they are a trip hazard
  • Hole backfilled with chip or soil, your choice
  • Palms and hardwood stumps included

04 — Rigging

Precise Aerial Rigging

This is the part that separates a tree service from a man with a chainsaw. Limbs are tied off, cut and lowered under control on rigging ropes and friction devices, so a two hundred kilogram branch lands where we want it and not through a roof sheet.

  • Rope access, no crane or scaffold needed on most sites
  • Speedline and lowering setups over roofs, pools and glass
  • Confined access, courtyards and narrow side passages
  • Ground crew controlling every piece that comes down

05 — Chipping

Wood Chipping & Chipper Hire

Brush goes straight through the chipper as it comes down, which is why our sites stay tidy while we work. Chips can be blown onto your beds as mulch or taken away with everything else. We also hire the chipper out with an operator if you are clearing your own place.

  • On-site chipping of branches and brush
  • Chips left as mulch or removed — your call
  • Chipper hire with operator for your own clearing work
  • Ideal for smallholdings, estates and body corporates

06 — Clearing

Site & Plot Clearing

Invasive stands and building platforms cleared down to workable ground. We strip the bush, chip what we can, cut the timber into manageable lengths and truck the rest away so the builders can move straight in.

  • Vacant plots and building sites
  • Invasive species: rooikrans, black wattle, port jackson
  • Fire breaks and boundary clearing
  • Full removal, or stacked on site if you want the firewood

07 — Milling

Live Edge Slabbing

A good trunk is worth more as a table than as firewood. Where the timber is sound we mill it into live edge slabs on site, leaving the natural edge intact. Yellowwood, camphor, oak, blackwood and gum all cut up beautifully.

  • Milled on site — no need to move the log
  • Slabs cut to the thickness you want
  • Table tops, counters, benches, mantelpieces and shelving
  • Advice on stacking and drying your slabs afterwards

08 — Emergency

Emergency Tree Work

Garden Route storms bring trees down on roofs, cars, fences and access roads. We answer the phone at any hour, get the situation stable first, and only then work out the tidy-up. If you need paperwork for an insurance claim, tell us on the call and we will photograph it as we go.

  • Trees and limbs on roofs, vehicles and boundary walls
  • Split and hanging limbs made safe
  • Access roads and driveways cleared
  • Photographs and a written report for insurers on request

24 hours, seven days. Phone 064 129 4129 for anything urgent. Please call rather than message — messages get read late at night, phones get answered.

Pricing

Why we quote on site rather than over the phone.

Two trees that look identical from the street can differ by half a day's work — one has a bakkie standing next to it, the other needs every branch carried through a house. We would rather look at the job and give you a fixed number than guess and revise it later.

Not sure which one you need?

Describe the tree and we will tell you straight what the job involves.
